Political Science majors at the University of Nebraska at Kearney study government, public policies, and political behavior affecting human society. Specific topics include concerns for world peace, government policies aimed at achieving economic stability and growth, the gap between socioeconomic classes, the possibility of using law to affect change, and control over political competition.

Completing the coursework, you will develop citizenship skills, as well as others, that you can apply to any occupation. This program combines 24 credit hours in Political Science with classes in history, sociology, geography, economics or psychology. Paired with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, this degree prepares you to teach Social Studies, Civics or Government classes at the middle- or high-school level.
